Why do schools need playgrounds?

Many a research have shown how the pleasure of play can trigger brain development and social capabilities. They also show that playgrounds contribute to a number of play types important to a child’s physical, social, cognitive, and emotional development. These sorts of play allow children to explore according to his or her natural tendencies, learn from one another, and interact with a wide range of age groups.

The playground is usually an open outdoor space, in a specific location, specially designed for children to express themselves freely and have fun in a safe way using school playground equipment. Some of the reasons as to why do schools need playgrounds are;

Government seem to have done very well in providing sufficient space to accommodate playground in most public schools across the country even though the same cannot be said of the accompanying playground facilities. It has however failed in insisting that private school developers conform with the same provision.
